When people think of Disney movies, they often think of fairytales and happy endings. However, this is not the case with Disney’s animated 2009 tear-jerker Up. Unlike other movies on this list, Up is guaranteed to have viewers tearing up in the film's first ten minutes and at the very end. The beginning of Up goes through the backstory of the main character, Carl Fredricksen, who was played by Ed Asner. Fredricksen was madly in love with his wife, but they could not have children, and he lost her before they could take their dream vacation. Though Up is sad, especially initially, it is a very well done, family-friendly feature worth the watch and tears.
